South Nova is known several large arches of ice. They take up a massive area in the upper
region- only a few have been able to scale several of them. They say if one were to conquer
even the smallest arc, they have the stamina and determination of a true warrior. A very
rare plant resides on the top of the highest peak, and it is said only
one has reached it and lives to tell the day.

✧･ﾟThe stuff of legends. Tales of old, but still remembered through fables pass through generations. Folklore say there are two original rulers of South Nova, one who is apparently still roaming the world as of today!

✧･ﾟThe Great Orta ✧･ﾟ

✧･ﾟ The Crystal Gordo is one of the original nomads who have made South Nova their home. Under the guidance of their powerful leader, King, the Crystal Gordos thrived in South Nova. It is said King is responsible for making Heavens Spine- a peaceful haven for all crystal Gordos. It is also said one of the Legendary Three- The Great Kelderon Kalmari, is a comrade and trusted friend of King.

✧･ﾟOrta is a powerful being who is said to create and shape the glaciers and mountains of South Nova. Orta lives deep within the abyss, only appearing during great catastrophe. Many believe Orta is still alive, and continues to watch over them. They see Orta as the great deity of South Nova.

✧･ﾟ Grand Tundra is a powerful ruler of the notorious, but ever so elusive, Ice Leo pack. Named after the sector they reside in, Grand Tundra learned to adapt to the harsh conditions, and created a small village for her, and her people to call their own. She is extremely powerful and wise, and it is said the Ice Leo village wouldn't have thrived without her vast knowledge of the world they live in. She has a strong bloodline that has been passed down from generation to generation. After her passing, her role as Chief will be passed down to her son, Blizzard.

✧･ﾟFrost is the Grandson of the legendary Grand Tundra. Being raised by a line of well respected leaders, Frost took on the responsibility and duties of Chief at a very young age when outsiders killed his father, Blizzard. The sudden loss has caused Frost to shroud the entire village in an endless blizzard storm, so no outsider will be able to enter the village within a 10 mile radius. Frost loves his home with all his heart, and will do everything in his power to keep it safe. He is very strict, very powerful, and is well respected in the village. His daughter, Glaciene will later take on the role as Chief.

✧･ﾟWulfric ✧･ﾟ

✧･ﾟ Glaciene became Chief after she refused her fathers orders of being betrothed. She wanted to marry another (Wulfric), and Frost challenged her as a result. If she wins, she would be the Chief, and be free to marry whoever she pleases. The fight left Glaciene with several noticeable scars, but she ended up victorious against her father. Frost stepped down, and Glaciene became Chief of the village. She and Wulfric later married, and ended up having one child. (Kesuk)
Glaciene is known as "The Porcupine" by many, as she utilizes sharp quills in battle. Like Frost, she is very powerful, and will protect the village with her life if needed. While overseeing a trade with another village, she was ambushed and poisoned with an unfamiliar toxin after trying to protect her squad. She passed away several weeks later, and leaves behind a husband and daughter. The town was heartbroken from the loss of their young Chief. |
✧･ﾟ Wulfric was forced into the position by Frost the day after the passing of Glaciene. Wulfric, who climbed the top Heaven Spine to find the lone cure for Glaciene, only to learn she passed away the day BEFORE he returned, caused him to harbor much hatred for Frost; for he was thrown into the position without having time to mourn the loss of his wife. To make matters worse, Frost had Kesuk taken away from Wulfric, and put under his parental guidance. Frost threatens Wulfric, and tells him if he does not oblige to the duties of Chief, he will never see his daughter again.
Wulfric is powerful, one of the strongest Leos in the village next to Frost. Because he is the only one who has ever survived climbing Heavens Spine, many see him as the best replacement for Glaciene. Over the years, Wulfric has set aside his hatred and learned to see the village as his family and home. He will later give his duties to his daughter, Kesuk. |

✧･ﾟ Tulok ✧･ﾟ

✧･ﾟKesuk ✧･ﾟ

✧･ﾟ A Tulok is the Grandson of Wulfric, and son of Kesuk and Meta Knight. Being a hybrid who is unable to withstand the high temperatures on Pop Star, Tulok left his home as a teenager to live with Wulfric. He wanted to be the next Chief, and trained hard under the guidance of his parents and Grandfather. Because Kesuk never accepted the role as Chief, Wulfric retired at an old age, and gladly passed on his duty to his grandson.
Tulok is Chief for several long decades, and many compare his ways and teachings to Wulfric. When a massive earthquake sends an large avalanche towards their small village Tulok heads out to diverge it. The village was saved, but at the cost of Tulok's life. The village was in shambled without their beloved leader, and it would take many years for the village to heal from the loss. The role of Chief will be handed down to his kin once Kesuk passed away. |
✧･ﾟKesuk is known as the oldest and shortest Chief in the history of the Village- only serving 1 day after the passing of her son, Tulok, before passing away herself.
At a young age, Kesuk was originally going to take the role of Chief, but never accepted it because she wanted to pursue her life with Meta as the protector and caretaker of Kirby- the last Star Warrior. When she learned her youngest son, Tulok, wanted to be the next Chief, she personally trained and taught him all she knows so he'll one day be ready to take on the position. |

✧･ﾟProduce is scarce in South Nova, but there are a few fruit that flourish in the icy tundra. Many of the produce that grow here are said they taste delicious. Unfortunately, those who aren't used to these types of fruits claims it just tastes like water.
Watch out! If you take a bite, you may find yourself having a bad case of brain freeze! Only those who were born and raised in South Nova can taste the true flavors of these delectable treats!

✧･ﾟIts appearance is similar to a watermelon, but the color of it is a light blue. Known as the best fruit in all the Novas, the Arctic Melon only has a shelf life of a few days before it goes rotten. It takes many months to grow, and it must be below a certain temperature for it to fully ripen. It's served for very special occasion only.

✧･ﾟA spikey, round fruit that's light blue. It also has magenta fibers, and a purple stem. When eaten, it doesn't taste cold, but warm and mild. No one is certain why, but it adds a unique kick when served on top of cured meat. Found in the harshest part of South Nova, only ice based creatures are able to gather this rare delectable. Many see it as a right of passage to get one for their family, so when one does retrieve it, it's treated with the utmost care.

✧･ﾟ A hard rock outer shell that resemble a fossil. Inside has a gooey like substance that varies in color depending on where its grown. When opened, it has a rich tasting flesh that many compare to a sweet tasting jam. Small in size like an oyster, many South Novans hit the outside with a blunt stone and slurp the gushy innards out of it. Since they're so small, one is easily able to carry a few of them for a quick snack. They're mostly found in caverns.

✧･ﾟSmall red berries that have a unique spiral shape in the center of each one. The stem is an aqua blue hue. Depending on how ripe it is, the Chilla berry can range from very bitter and tart, to a super sweet delicious treat! Many South Novans love to eat it right off the branch! It's the perfect to go snack, and is usually enjoyed alongside the Kanut. Other common treats made by locals is sweet jam, and candied berries!

✧･ﾟAn oddly shaped purple fruit with a pale teal stem. When cut open, it has a light purple hue. The taste vary to any who eat it. Many think it's tart like a lemon, while some believe the complete opposite. It is said the taste is based off of temperature of ones body. The Kurang is considered the easiest out of all the South Novan produce to grow. Compared to a common apple, this is a nice little treat for anyone to snack on. For outsiders, they prefer it baked.

✧･ﾟA blue shaped gourd with a light blue stem and fibers. It has a similar texture to a pumpkin, as well as a faint nutty, sweet taste. It's mainly served as a side dish along with meats and dried fruit. Since the flavor isn't pungent, several spices are used on it. This plant is very resilient, and is known to withstand even the harshest conditions. While other plants may wilt and perish, this one will thrive.

✧･ﾟ Blizzard Bees ✧･ﾟ
✧･ﾟBlizzard Bees are a small tribe located in Frozen Sector. They are well known in South Nova for their exotic spices, sugar, jam, and signature blue honey; many claim its some of the best out of the 4 Novas.
Because of their powerful scent, they know the exact time each root, herb, or plant is ready to be handled. They are also the only creature in South Nova who is able to make honey using the planet's native foliage. Blizzard Bees are peaceful creatures, and don't prefer to engage in confrontation. Because of this, they rely on other tribes for resources. Their best customers are the Ice Leos. They are one of the few tribes that are on friendly terms with them. Because Ice Leos are some of the best hunters out there, the tribe receive lots of pelt, bones, and dried meat from them, in exchange for spices and honey. Sometimes Ice Leos will offer services in the form of protection from Demon Beasts, or escorting them to another part of South Nova in exchange for their goods. The queen in on good terms with the current Chief (Wulfric), so they consider the Ice Leos their ally. |

✧･ﾟ Exotic Spices ✧･ﾟ

✧･ﾟ Blue Honey ✧･ﾟ

✧･ﾟIf asked by any local, spices from the Blizzard Bee tribe are the only spices they use when cooking. They make the perfect rub for meat, and their sugar make some of the best candied fruit out there! Depending on the year, some spices may be harder to get, and will require more goods to be traded in order to receive it.

✧･ﾟThe only way to receive a jar of this unique blue honey, is by trading with the Blizzard Bee tribe. It's a rare treat, and many will trade lots of wares for a jar of one. Their shelf life last for over a decade, but because of how tasty is it, a jar rarely lasts a month before it's gone. Many use it to drizzle it on top of dried fruit, or jerky. It's also said a spoonful mixed with tea will help remedy sore throats.

✧･ﾟ The Arctic Hare ✧･ﾟ
✧･ﾟYounger ice Leos will start off with the Arctic Hare. They are the least dangerous , and provide good practice to those who are learning to make traps, or studying how to track. They provide a small protein boost, and are commonly used in stew! The Arctic Hare are rich in numbers, so the supply of hare is always plentiful.
The Arctic Hare have incredibly speed, and nest in small burrows. Traps are commonly used for them. If the hunter is skilled in archery, they'll be able to hunt them easily. |
✧･ﾟThe Glacier Seal ✧･ﾟ
✧･ﾟGlacier seals are assigned to newer hunting squads to test teamwork and coordination. Adolescence seals are usually hunted, and the larger ones are left to the veteran hunters. The Glacier seal have several spikes on their back, and they're able to shoot them if they feel threatened.
They provide a plethora of meat and pelt that can last a family months. A bulk of the meat is dried and made into jerky. It makes for a tasty snack, or used for trading with other villages. |

✧･ﾟThe Snow Deer ✧･ﾟ

✧･ﾟThe Winter Nruff ✧･ﾟ
|

✧･ﾟLeos who are taught archery are left to hunt snow deer. They are extremely quick, agile, and can outrun a Leo easily. Their fur also helps them blend in with their surroundings. Paired with their sensitive hearing, the only way to take down this cunning creature is by distance.
The snow deer is used to teach younger leos how to properly clean their kill, and show them how to use every part of the carcass. The fur, the meat, the horns, the hooves and the bones- Ice Leos are expected NEVER to waste, as it will be disrespectful to the animal who has given their life for them. Many wear the snow deer fluffy pelts as camouflage. |
✧･ﾟWinter Nruffs are a rare sight, and are seen as some of the best, tender, tastiest meat in all of South Nova. They are cooked for special occasions only, and can fetch high prices at the market. Since they're so uncommon to find, Leos are told NEVER to overhunt them. Trackers must keep a record of an estimated population count before asking permission from the Chief to hunt them.
They're quite easy to hunt. Their tusks don't provide a hindrance, and they're not fast enough to outrun hunters. But since they're so rare, only veterans are able to hunt them since a lot of effort must be made to hunt one in the first place. |

✧･ﾟThe Chilled Trout ✧･ﾟ

✧･ﾟThe Icy Candlemander ✧･ﾟ
|

✧･ﾟThis type of trout is very common in South Nova. Before Leos are able to hunt, they are trained to fish. They are taught at a young age, usually at the age of 5. They are also trained in the basics of cooking common meals made from it- Fish stew, or chilled fish is a a staple in the Ice Leo village. They are also smoked, and dried to make jerky. Since trout is plentiful, they are used as bait for larger prey- like the Glacier Seal.
While the Chilled Trout is easy to catch, it can also turn deadly caused by breaks in the ice. Leos must take caution not to fall into the water as most of them don't know how to swim. |
✧･ﾟThe least dangerous animal to hunt, these little critters are usually grilled on a stick, and provide a quick snack on the go. Along with the Chilled Trout, children are often taught how to hunt them since they're harmless.
Many kids keep them as pets because they're so small. But because they live quite long, some Leos are seen with them on their shoulders up until they're young adults. Those who have them as pets will tend to avoid eating them as a result. |
