Son of Arthur
Chapter. 7
"I flew all the way to the 4th pillar, momma!" Atticus spoke as he took another bite of his spaghetti.
"That's wonderful, Atticus." She clasped her hands in excitement when she saw how proud he was. "So you had fun training with your grandfather?"
"Uh-huh!" He nodded, a smile still plastered on his face. "He gave me a popsicle, and we rested under the large tree when I was tried, and he, ummm...what was it again, daddy?"
"He stretched and groomed his wings, Petta." Arthur spoke, though not as enthusiastic like his son since his expectations of Bate's class wasn't what he was hoping for. Never had Bate treated him how he did to Atticus. Sure, Bate's his grandfather, but really? Ice cream during a training lesson? Breaks every 5 minutes? No shouting or strict discipline? The warrior knew he was just spoiling him.
Petta paid no attention to Arthur's sour mood, and focused back on Atticus. "Are you going to train tomorrow?"
"Ooujii's busy, so we're gonna do it the day after. He told me I should take the day off to rest anyways since I'm still learning."
"Then you better rest up. How about instead of helping me tomorrow, you and dad go to your garden? I'm sure he'll love to see what's been growing while he was away. Right, dear." She spoke with slight emphasis since she knew he wasn't in that great of a mood,
"O-oh, of course." Arthur shook his thoughts as his voice lightened up when she brought him into the conversation. "Atti and I will hold the fort down tomorrow, dear, we'll be fine."
"Hm, of course you will." She spoke and glanced at Atticus once he was done. "Atticus, it's getting a bit late, how about washing up before going to bed? I'll be in there to start the bath, but could you get the towels
please?
Okay!" Atticus pushed himself away from the table and tottled to the laundry room. Once he left, Petta looked straight at Arthur with an equally sour expression. "Sir Arthur Bate, what in sweet nova has gotten into you?
Arthur slightly flinched when the tone of her voice was less than pleasant. He cautiously looked up, though looked back down when he saw how angry she was. "I....I just thought it was going to be different...."
"Different? Arthur, he's trying something new, and he's very happy and excited about it, can't you be proud of him as well? Look how hard he's trying."
"Petta, you weren't even there." Arthur covered his face with both hands in frustration. "Ice cream, he gave him ice cream during the lecture. I mean, If I were given treats and breaks every few minutes, I'd be happy too! That wasn't training, Teacher Bate completely babied and spoiled him."
"Well, he is his grandfather. That's what they do." She pointed out. "And besides, Atticus liked the lesson, and he's willing to keep doing it, so at some point, there's going to be improvement. But what's not okay is being

"Some of them grew a whole lot while you were away, daddy!" Atticus told his dad while he was gathering up all his supplies for his garden. "And there's even something really cool that sprouted, too! Momma told me to wait until you get there 'cause it's a surprise!"
"Oh?" Arthur spoke as he waited in the living room for his son to finish packing. When he saw Atticus carrying his little pale, the warrior stood up to carry it for him as the pair made their was out of the house and to Kalmari forest.
