New character! 8D
This is Mira! She is mentioned in this one-shot here, and recently this illustration here~! She is a resident of Kalmari who runs a small pharmacy in town. She's more of a bg character if anything, but I thought it would be fun to make a design for her~ ^o^
She's an older resident who has lived in Kalmari long before the arrival of Bate and Gordon. When Bate got together with Ellie, he had the pleasure of meeting her. Mira was a bit startled and timid at first, but slowly warmed up to him as time went on. Back then, he never really talked to her since Ellie was the one who would pick up his meds. But once she passed, that duty went to Gordon, and then finally Bate. Mira noticed a change in his behavior once Ellie passed on. He's become more reserved and less boisterous than his younger years. She still enjoys talking to him nonetheless whenever they see one another.
As time went on, Mira would give her duties to another. This is around the time Meta is already living on Pop Star with Kes and Kirby. It's also the time Bate's health insurance was bought out by another company, and his rates shot through the roof. (Unfinished fanfic in the works...eventually) Mira was out for the week when it happened, and was not informed of Bate's predicament until she returned. Once she found out what happened, she feels terrible for the way her assistant treated Bate. Her assistant refused to help him when he couldn't afford to pay for his medication, and even threatened to kick him out or get him arrested for disrupting the peace. The issue was resolved eventually, because Cite found out and offers to pay for Bate going forward. Still, she scolds her assistant for treating Bate with such disrespect.
She and Bate are still on good term, though, and she always makes time in her schedule to talk to the elder who has been her friend for over 50 years.
