Here's another request from a fan, they wanted to see Wulfric and Kes! I never drew them together before, so I though it would be cute to draw something in her toddler years! I DO have another illustration of them, so I'll start working on that pic as well. >v<

So this takes place when Kes is around 5 or 6. Wulfric is now the new Chief of their village. His late wife, Glaciene, was the previous leader. I mentioned in a previous illustration that she passed away from illness. (More info how she got ill will be provided later) While she was sick, Wulfric left the village to climb Heaven's Spine since its rumored a very rare plant grows there that would help her. He left for several weeks, and managed to be the first Leo who not only scaled the mountain, but bring the plant back to his village. Unfortunately, Glaciene passed away when he was descending the mountain. The previous leader before Glaciene was Frost, her father, but due to his age, he immediately passed on his daughters duties to Wulfric. (NOT because he was her husband, BUT for the reasons that he is the only Ice Leo to climb Heaven's Spine, and Lived. Wulfric is a beast, and VERY powerful, so he would make a fine leader.
So the thing about Wulfric, he NEVER wanted to be the Chief. He wasn't anything like Glaciene- She was loud, confident, strict, ruthless and a well rounded leader. He would always say she was the perfect leader for their village. Wulfric on the other hand was a bit of a dreamer. Loved to run off and go ice fishing, or spend his nights gazing up at the aurora borealis. He was orphaned at a young age, so he would only look after himself and he honestly didn't really care about the village. He never connected with anyone aside from Glaciene and a few elder Leos, so how could someone like him even begin to fill in the role of Chief?
South Nova is ruthless, and the same is said about the Ice Leo village- Leaders specifically. Wulfric not only had to become the Leader of the village the day he found out his wife died, but they had to hold the ceremony the day after her burial. This would be mentally taxing on anyone, to say the least. Wulfric had no time to mourn, to rest from his travels, or to spend time with his daughter. The world around him is moving fast, while his world is falling apart. But he's determined to stay strong for their daughter.
So dealing with the loss of his wife, becoming Chief AND raising their only daughter who keeps asking when her mother's going to return has taken a huge toll on him. The illustration above takes place a few days after Glaciene 's passing. Since he's the new leader, a photo must be taken. It's hung in a special room that displays photos of past leaders and their signature weapons. Wulfric...ah, doesn't look well. He's exhausted, tired, and it clearly shows with the dark rings under his eyes. He hasn't had a good rest since his return, but nonetheless he takes the photo. Kesuk actually attacked the photographer at first since she thought he was an intruder, and she's never seen a camera before. XD
Kesuk wanted to be in the photo since she proclaims that she's going to be the next Chief after her father. This amuses Wulfric, so he allows it. Once the photo is developed, Kesuk is furious that her father isn't smiling!!! She yells at her dad which Wulfric replies that they're not supposed to smile. Every past leader never really smiled in it- they usually look serious, BUT Kesuk disagrees and says it looks ugly. XDDD When she's leader she's going to smile...y'know, that was before she left her home, married Meta, had a kid, and moved to Pop Star. XP
