Before Bate strikes Mara, something causes him to suddenly stop. A.....voice? A memory....? He then remembers the promise he made to Ellie, Atler and Elliot. It takes A LOT of effort on Bate's part, but he releases Mara and decides to spare her.

Something also seems different about Bate in the last panel. Does anyone remember this page? Aside from his eyes, the other appearance change in Bate is his wings! They have markings now. x) I spoiled it long ago, but this is the scene where it first appears. <33 |
