(Kesuk)
"A hunter’s weapon is essential to us, and choosing the right type all depends on your style of fighting. Are you the type who likes close combat?" Kes spoke as she grabbed her sword and brutally sliced large training dummy in half.
"Or the type who prefers to attack from afar?" She asked, summoning several ice arrows before throwing each one at a target a few feet away.
"As your mentor, it’s my job to make sure you little ice cubes pick the right weapon for future hunts. Now I know this class may sound frightening at first, but I'm here to cover any question or doubts you may have. With that being said, are there any questions?"
Kes' first day as a teacher seemed to be going quite well. With her introduction out of the way, and how much the small Leo's seemed interested, Kes could say it turned out to be a success! Now scanning the small group of Leo’s with a confident smile, she pointed to one of her students when their hand shot up.
“Yes! You have a question?”
“Hm!” She nodded, giving a small giggle while her friends did the same. “Ummm….When’s the outsider gonna visit again?”
The other students joined in on the fun, and Kes couldn’t help but falter from their snickering. They were always so interested in the "Outsider" that always visits. Since it was rare for anyone to enter their village, the younger group of Leos has taking a huge liking towards her friend, Meta. The warrior is never bothered by the added attention when he drops by, and even brings them candy when he visits. Because of it, they've grown to adore Meta, but unfortunately tend to tease Kes about him. While she doesn't really mind, having them behave in such a manner during class as not something she had expected.
“Y-yeah, Meta...is very busy back at his home in Kalmari. He won't be visiting for quite some time." She weakly smiled, and decided to move on. "Any other questions?” She spoke, and soon pointed to another.
“Is he going to bring more chocolates next time?”
"Oooh, yeah! He brought those little star shaped chocolates! Can you tell him to bring more?" Another Leo piped up.
“Or candy? Like those little sour Squids he brought along?”
“How come he doesn’t live here if he visits you all the time?" A smaller Leo spoke.
"Does he like you?" The Leo in the front spoke.
“Are you gonna get married?”
"Or how about-"
“A-aah, kids, settle down.” Kes raised her arms to hush the group. Okay, so maybe her first day didn't go so well. Maybe it would be best to end the lesson for today since they're minds were clearly elsewhere. "Y'know...how about we start tomorrow? Get some rest and be prepared next morning because your training officially begins tomorrow."
A small wave of groans filled the air, and Kes motioned them back to their homes. Once the last Leo left the area, Kes gave a small whine before collapsing on the floor in frustration.
"Oh, darn it..." She huffed, finally getting back up to collect all her weapons she brought for the lecture; a bit saddened she wasn't able to capture her students attention like she had hoped. All they kept talk about was-
"The Outsider, ay?" Pon gave a small chuckle and helped her friend place all the weapons back on the rack of her shed. After hearing how her first day went, he couldn't help but laugh as well. "Can you blame them? We never had an outsider constantly visit when we were younger. It's pretty exciting for them, y'know?"
"Yeah, I know..." She gave a small shrug and placed the last ivory hilt on the shelf. "Still, that doesn't change the fact that I'm unable to teach without them constantly bringing him up. Sweet Kelderon, what a disaster..."
