I mentioned in this description here about Frost battling Kes when he heard her request to move to Pop Star to raise Kirby, and how Kia and Kavik saved her in time and helped her escape.
I don't think Kes realized her Grandfather was going to attack her to the point of almost killing her. But seeing what he did to Glaciene (His daughter) Kes should've known. It's a shame Wulfric allowed this to happen, but it was one of the few times he actually agrees with Frost. He didn't want his daughter to leave. ;A;
