-Tormenting the Teacher-
(Bate / Meta)
Saying Meta loves to bug his flying instructor would be an understatement. He doesn't try to hide it, nor is he ever embarrassed to say he likes to spend his free hours hanging out with him. In fact, Meta enjoys having the elder around. Though his teacher may not show it, Meta knows he feels the same happiness and joy......well, that's what he likes to believe, anyways.
Saying Bate is bewildered by Meta's antics would be an understatement. Sure, he doesn't mind occasional visits from the young warrior, but Meta has become, well...clingy. As weeks slowly turned to months, Meta weekly visits turned to daily visits. It's not like Bate hates it- no, it's quite the opposite. Bate truly enjoys company....from time to time, that is. His precious hours of sleep have been constantly interrupted by stories of class, or annoying whines of wanting to go to the candy store. He knew he'd never get any peace unless he does something about it....

"Teacher!!!" Meta smiled when he finally found his teacher in the deep thickets of Kalmari Forest. "I've been looking everywhere for you! Ummm...why are you in the deep part of Kalmari forest?"
So, even hiding deep within the forest was no match for the tiny warrior. Defeated, Bate opened his eyes and faced his student.
"Sleeping- you know, what I always do after class?"
He decided to be a bit blunt since he's lost quite a lot of sleep over the past few months. Meta's constant visits have taken quite a toll on his sleeping pattern. As a result, he's been quite sluggish and out of tune with the world. He knew Meta was too naive to notice his subtle hints of wanting to be alone. Still, it couldn't hurt to try again.
"I've been losing a lot of sleep because something keeps getting me up."
"Something?" Meta questioned. "Like what?"
Bate sighed in frustration. 'Why do I even bother,' He thought as he watched the tiny Puffball try to guess the obvious.
"Is it nightmares? I always get up from them when I'm sleeping." Meta explained to the elder. "Or, ummm....Does Teacher Gordon keep you up? Or maybe Teacher Ramset....Wait! It's Arthur, isn't it?"
Bate patted his head to quiet him down. No matter how hard he hints it, he knew Meta would never guess it. "It's nothing. Just...forget what I said, alright?"
"Huh? Are you sure?"
"Yes...I'm sure." He mumbled. He decided to change the topic to, hopefully, get him to leave faster. "So, what do you need? I'm sure you have better things to do this evening."
His words went unheard, however. He saw Meta a few feet away playing with a lone, bright orange feather. He lightly smiled at his innocent and carefree nature.
'Not a care in the world, huh?'
Bate decided to close his eyes again, seeing as Meta found something to occupy his time. A few minutes passed before his sleep was disturbed yet again. It wasn't a voice calling his name like last time; it was something lightly touching one of his wings. He, again, opened his eyes and saw Meta lightly brushing him with the feather he was playing with earlier.
"What in Nova are you doing to my wing?"
The young warrior suppressed his giggles and continued to brush his wing.
"Seeing if you're ticklish."
"....Ticklish?"
Meta nodded. "I tried the same thing with Arthur, and he started laughing when I used it on his wings. I wanted to see if it works on you as well."
'....But aren't his wings made of feathers?' Bate thought.
He continued to watch Meta stroke the feather up and down his wing. After a minute of brushing, Bate decided to stop him; seeing as it wasn't effecting him like the tiny warrior hoped it would.
"I'm not ticklish, Gumball." His voice, slightly annoyed.
Meta refused to listen to him. "Everyone's ticklish." He went to brush his arm, hoping it'll make him laugh...or even smile, at least.
Bate sat completely still, not moving an inch to prove his point. "I'm not, so please, stop tic-"
His voice suddenly hitched when Meta started to brush his feet. Shivers crawled up the elder's spine as he felt the light tickling dance across his feet. He quickly bit his tongue to prevent himself from laughing. Meta saw the sudden change in his attitude, and a huge smile formed across the young warrior's face. Bate mentally cursed when he knew Meta found out.
"Gumball, don't do that." He warned.
"But, I thought you weren't ticklish." He decided to play dumb.
"I-I'm not!" He huffed. "I was just about to....sneeze, but that stupid feather of yours interrupted me."
Meta laughed at his poor excuse of a lie. "Don't lie, Teacher."
Bate looked away in embarrassment. "Fine, you got me." He stood up and stretched his wings. "But tell anyone and I'll make sure you never get candy again, got it?"
"Whaaaat? You can't do that! That's no fairrrrr!!!" He started to whine.
"I can, and I will. Don't test me, Gumball." He lightly smirked at his defeated reaction. "Now, you've had your fun, but I need to go home and rest. I'll walk you to your caretaker's home."
Bate held out his hand and waited for Meta to take it. The tiny Puffball dropped the feather and frowned.
"Awwww, already? You're no fun...." He walked over and grabbed his hand.
"I never said I was...."
"You should be...." Meta mumbled. "All you ever do is sleep...."
"Well, when you're midlife and have 5, boisterous students, you'll understand."
Meta looked away and challenged his words.
"....You keep saying that, but I'm not like you."

Age: 5000
Kirby found his mentor lazily sleeping against a large tree next to their home. He went over and started rocking him back and forth to get him up.
"Teacher? Teacher, get up!!! Get up, get up, get up!!!"
"Kirby! Quit shaking me!" Meta slapped his student with is wing to hush him. "And what have I told you about getting me up when I'm sleeping?!"
"Ow!!!" Kirby rubbed the his head. "I'm gonna tell Uncle Arthur you hit me!"
"I barely even touched you!" He rolled his eyes at the overly dramatic Puffball. "What do you need? Aren't you supposed to be training with Uncle Nonsurat?"
"He let me out early," The pink Puffball smiled. "So now we can spend the rest of the evening playing together!" He excitedly jumped in the air.
Meta let out an annoyed groan and pushed the excited Puff away. "Can't you play with the others? I'm too tired to play."
Kirby pouted. "But all you ever do is sleep!!"
"Well, when you're middle-aged and have an overly hyper student you'll un...underst-ACHOO!"
Kirby giggled. "Someone's talking about you."
"Yeah...?" Meta stood up and stretched his wings.
"I wonder who?" Kirby pondered.
Meta slightly smiled, having a good guess who it might be.
"Someone whose foresight was far better than mine, apparently."
