-To Heal a Star Warrior-
(Meta / Kesuk / Kirby)
Kirby flinched when the sky briefly lit up after another bolt of lighting struck. Rain harshly poured from the sky, and after hearing another roar of thunder crackle, the small Star Warrior felt like maybe it would be best if he watched from a further distance. He crawled down from the couch he was resting on, and made his way near the warm fireplace where he thought it was much safer. Now snuggled in his star shaped blanket, he looked at the other who was preparing dinner in the kitchen. She was quietly chopping up several chunks of meat before scooping them up and placing them in a large pot. The sound of rain was replaced by the sizzling sound of the meat, and the warrior couldn’t help but perk from the sounds and smell of everything. After dicing quite a bit of vegetables, she finally felt his presence, and gave the puff a small smile when their eyes met.
“Still pouring, huh?” She asked as she slowly stirred the pot of stew she was making. Kirby gave a silent nod.
“Hopefully it’ll let up soon. For now, stay warm, and close to the fire. Dinner’s almost ready. Once Meta comes home we’ll eat, okay?”
“Okay.” He softly replied and focused his attention to the crackling sounds of the firewood. He closed his eyes and tried to focus on that instead of the thunder outside. He hoped his mentor would return, he can’t imagine how scary it must be when it’s raining like this. He should’ve returned already, it’s been more than an hour. Did something happen? Was he in trouble? Just the thought of something happening to him caused the small warrior to curl up even tighter in his blanket.
“Hm?” Kes turned off the stove and headed to the door once she heard several loud thuds. Kirby crawled out of his blanket and saw the warrior enter the house completely drenched and shivering.
“Oh, Meta….” He heard Kes mumble to herself as she took the groceries from his hands. “I told you to take an umbrella. Look at you, you’re soaking wet.”
Meta didn’t speak, and waited for her to return after setting the bags down. She helped take off his armor and led him to the restroom to wash off.
“Sweet Nova, you better hope you don’t catch a cold. Let’s get you in the shower and see if that helps.” Her voiced echoed in the hallway before the sound of the bathroom door shutting was heard soon after. Kirby’s wings lowered when he didn’t have the chance to greet him, and burrowed back in his blanket and waited for them to come out.
When the sound of the door finally clicked, Kirby headed towards the hallway and shyly watched as the Leo helped Meta to his room. His voice was much lower and raspier, and Kirby slightly flinched when he heard several coughs.
“T-Teacher’s sick…..” He frowned.
