-The Fall-
(Bate / Meta / Arthur)
“OUCH! Darn it!”
Bate shouted and grasped his foot in pain. He slightly leaned himself against the hallway wall and angrily called out to his two students.
“Meta, Arthur! Living room, now!”
Both Puffballs, who were currently in their room coloring, flinched when they heard Bate call them.
“Uh-oh….” Arthur nervously glanced at Meta. “He doesn’t sound too happy….”
“Of course he doesn’t! It’s never good when he calls me by my first name.” Meta shifted uncomfortably as he mind started racing to as what would’ve caused his teacher to get angry.
When both Puffballs arrived, they saw Bate point to one of the couches. They followed his orders and nervously waited for him to speak. The elder walked in front of the two and held out his hand. The two looked and slightly coward when they saw him holding a small toy figure.
“How many times do I need to tell the two of you to pick up after yourselves? I almost fell because of it!” Bate scolded the two warriors.
“W-we’re sorry…” Arthur softly spoke.
“R-really!" Meta spoke soon after, “We promise we won’t do it again.”
“You said that the last time, and the time before that. Just when do you intend to keep that promise?”
Meta’s wing lowered in shame and he rubbed his eyes now dripping with tears. “This time?”
The old warrior sighed, and figured getting mad over a small incident wasn’t worth ruining both their days. “Of course, just remember next time alright?” He said, and placed the toy on the coffee table before patting their heads.
"Yes, Teacher Bate~!” Both quickly perked up and hugged the elder for sparing them from being grounded or lectured by Gordon.
--
“HEY!” Meta shouted and lightly shoved Arthur who was snickering across from him. “You promised we wouldn’t play for keeps!”
Arthur pushed Meta back and grabbed the marbles he won from the match. “I don’t remember hearing that.”
Both Puffballs were currently in the attic ‘helping’ Bate clean up some of the boxes cluttering the room. While going though one of the boxes, Bate found an old bag of marbles that belonged to him when he was a kid and gave them to the two Puffs as he felt they would enjoy something to occupy their time while he was cleaning. Unfortunately they were having a hard time sharing it.
Meta angrily huffed from Arthur’s rules and called for his teacher to settle it . “Teacher!!! Arthur’s not sharing the marbles!!!”
Bate, who was currently lifting one of the boxes, didn’t have time to break up their fight and just called out and hoped they’ll listen.
“A-Arthur, share the marbles,”
Of course, that didn’t work. Arthur just sneered and Meta, now fuming with anger, ran out of the attic to tell Gordon.
“T-Teacher Gordooooon! Arthur’s cheating!!!”
“Am not!!” Arthur shouted and quickly dashed out of the attic as well to defend himself from Meta’s -obvious- false accusation.
