Elliot and Alba both wanna see Bate and Ellie smile again. :,3
This is based off an old one-shot I wrote about Elliot and his views towards Bate. You can read it here!
In a nut-shell, his hatred for Bate cooled down after he saved him from a demon beast. The relationship between Bate and Elliot has grown over the years after said incident. Elliot isn't swooning over Ellie like he used to, and is also much more accepting towards other creatures staying in Kalmari. He has changed over the years, but doesn't really like to let anyone know. (He kinda wants to keep it a secret for now.)
