-South Nova Delivery-
(Bate/ Ellie)
“Absolutely positively not, Ellie!”
Bate profusely mumbled to himself after the fact, and he faced his wife when he knew she was going to speak.
“Don’t say a word.” He held up his finger to hush her, “Nothing you can say will change my mind-“
“But dear-“
“W-what did I just say about talking???” His face started to heat up, and he faltered a bit when she wasn’t listening. Ellie sensed he was started to get anxious from it all, so she forced herself up, and headed to her frantic husband.
“Bate, please calm down.” She spoke in a relatively soft voice in hopes he’d reply in the same manner, “I can’t have you stressing out before /they/ arrive.”
The sheer mention of it cause Bate to completely go numb, and the young Puff eyed her wife who was currently bearing their two children. His eyes soften as he started to calm down, and he gently took her hand to lead her back to the couch.
“I…I’m sorry,” His wings greatly lowered, and he looked up with glossy eyes, ”I just…..I don’t want anything to happen to you, or them.”
“I understand,” She reached over and caressed his cheek to ease him, “Nothing’s going to happen when you’re around. A Star Warrior never breaks a promise….remember?”
Ellie saw a small smile form on his face, and the Squishy gave one in return.
“We still have plenty of time, dear.” Ellie spoke, “She….did say one of them was blessed with the title.”
“I know.” Bate started to hesitate when he recalled the memories of Atka informing the two that they were going to be the proud parents of a Star Warrior. He gave a small sigh, and looked away. “Going to the temple is dangerous, Ellie. I know she wanted us to go there for the delivery, but….”
Bate completely turned away from her, and Ellie watched as he mulled over on what he wanted to say about Atka's….daunting request.
“I can’t….” Was all he managed to say.
Ellie knew he truly wanted to go, but the thought of something happening half way through the journey was something he knew he’d never live down.
“I’ll be fine.” She reassured, “My concern is leaving on time before it really is too late.”
"Time? What about the weather, or demon beasts or anything else that may possibly happen?" Bate explained. "Ellie, if I get hurt, there's no possible way you can get to safety."
"But nothing will happen, Bate." Ellie stressed. "We've traveled tons of times in the past, and do you remember ever being attacked by a demon beast?"
"No, but-"
"So what makes you think this time will be any different? Dear, you've never once caused me to doubt your ability to protect and keep me safe. You're so much stronger than you let on, and I know how much going there means to you. I swear, nothing will happen, while we're away."
"Thank you, Ellie...." Bate softly spoke and embraced her. "I'm still not sure about this whole thing, but...."
The Puff stood up and gently took her hand to lead her outside. "How about we....have a small trial period here before I make my decision."
"Trial Period?" Ellie questioned and slowly followed behind.

“Remember, if you feel anything- and I mean ANYTHING, tell me and we’ll land, alright? Even if it’s nothing, just tell me, okay?"
“Yes, dear,” Ellie said as she lightly giggled from his comical air. Oh, this was going to be some trip. She watched as Bate unzipped one of his gloves and pulled out a small, blue Warp Star. Lightly touching the center, the little star lit up, and Bate tossed it not to far from him as it grew several times its original size. Ellie let out a small squeak in excitement when she saw the rather large star floating besides them. She always found it quite amazing whenever he uses it. Seeing as he uses his wings to travel, this was quite the treat for the Squishy.
“A-are you ready to get on?” Bate held out his hand.
She gave a nod and steadily walked over as she stepped on the Star. She let out a small yelp, and Bate quickly panicked when he heard her.
“W-what?!! Is it time?!!!” He heart started racing, “S-should I head to the hospital?!!!"
“N-no, dear,” She giggled and balanced herself when her body was fully on the star. “I just….never really road a Warp Star before. It’s different from riding on your back.”
‘O-oh…” Bate gave a nervous chuckle. "They are quite different, I suppose."
Bate made sure she was sitting right in the center, and with a steady hand, he motioned the star to move forward.
“How about we take a small stroll before actually taking off in the sky.“ Bate said as he walked besides the Warp Star and headed a few feet away from their home.
“It’s….not as wobbly as I thought it would be.” Ellie said as she was sitting perfectly still as her husband commanded the star to follow his every move.
“Hm, they’re very stable.” He continued walking and kept a close eye on her. It was only until they reached the end of the cliff did he finally speak again.
“Are you comfortable riding this all the way to the temple?” He said, still worried something may happen.
“I’m fine.” She smiled to ease the tension, “If I knew your Warp Star was this enjoyable to ride on, I would’ve asked you years ago instead of hoping on your back.
