I've been really obsessed with Paper Mario lately. It's a personal favorite game of mine, I honestly lost count how many times I've played the OG 64 version. <33333 So here's how Bate would look like in said style!! 8D Back in 2016, I had an idea to make my own Gumball Warrior RPG heavily based on Paper Mario. The idea was Meta and Co had their Warp Star Stolen, and it was up to Bate and Atka to rescue them. Bate's 'helpers' would be the Guardians, and each one would have their own unique power to assist Bate in the overworld. There would've been 6 Stars to rescue (Meta, Arthur, Falspar, Dragato, Nonsurat , Pyrell.) And each one would have their own Boss. x) Plus several final bosses.
It's a fun little idea I like to work on from time to time. You can actually see a VERY rough concept of the battle of Atka vs a Dark Matter in this old doodle dump. ;v; I had another mockup of one of Bate vs Hiero, but I guess I never posted. XD
I wanna try to work on it a bit more, but it'll likely never be finished since I can't do pixel art very well, nor do I have the knowledge to code and make a game from scratch. lol I just like to doodle concept art sometimes when I'm in a Paper Mario mood. ^v^ And it's always fun to give pixel art a try.
