Very good, Nonsurat!" Gordon praised the young Puff as he performed his training exercises with precise precision. The small warrior gave a smile of appreciation before finishing up what Gordon assigned him. Alba, who is silently watching, looked on as Nonsurat quickly slashed several of the dummies scattered around the training field with ease. She couldn't help but smile as it felt quite nostalgic.
"You've trained him well." She complimented. "It reminds me of the days you used to teach Jr."
"He and Nonsurat are one in the same." Gordon nodded, "Both are prodigies at what they do. In a few years, I wouldn't be surprised if Nonsurat surpasses me. "
"Well, he certainly has an excellent teacher." She lightly pecked his cheek, which got the Gordo slightly flustered.
"Teacher Gordon, I'm all done!!" Nonsurat happily waved to get his attention.
“Great job, Nonsurat! I think you even beat your last record!” He summoned one of his specter hands and gave the little warrior a pat on the head. "How about we wrap this lesson a bit early, then."
Without skipping a beat, Nonsurat nodded. "Okay!!!" He darted to the direction of Bate's home to see his friends since they always meet up for lunch. He looked back to see if his teacher is close by since they always race to see who'll get there faster. To his surprise, Gordon hasn't moved an inch. It sorta looked like he was still talking to Alba. The warrior stopped and quietly watched them- both were giggling, and laughing, and it wasn't until Gordon spotted Nonsurat walking towards them, did he head over to him. Nonsurat smiled, but it didn't last long once he spoke.
“If you don’t mind, Nonsurat, Alba and I are going to have lunch together so we can catch up. Would you mind telling Bate I won't arrive home until later in the evening?"
"O-oh...." He tried not to sound disappointed. “Hm! I’ll tell him right when I see him!”
“Thank you, I’ll see you tonight.” He patted his head. Alba walked over and did the same.
“It was very nice watching you train. Gordon is so very lucky to have a student like you.” She smiled. “I’ll be sure to return him without a scratch, promise.” She joked before standing back up to head to Gordon.
Waving goodbye, Nonsurat began walking towards Bate’s home once more, but not before taking one last glance at his teacher.

“Good afternoon, Nonsurat.” Bate greeted when he saw the Puff. He looked in the distance when he didn’t spot Gordon and figured he was probably still with Alba. “Is Gordon running late?”
“Y-yeah....” He nodded. “He said he’s going to arrive later tonight.”
“I figured.” He smiled, motioning him over to the others. “Those two have quite some catching up to do.”
"Hm…” He softly hummed when Bate didn’t seemed as bothered by it as he had hoped.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if lover boy returns at all.” Ramset joked, nudging Bate. “I’ve never seen him so infatuated before, do you think he’ll eventually move in with her?”
Nonsurat flinched when he said that.
“I never thought about it." Bate pondered. "I'll have to have a word with him, I'm quite curious to know."
"B-but-!" Nonsurat cried.
"Hey, Nonsurat!!!" Meta happily called, waving his hands to get his attention. "C'mon, lunch is almost ready!"
Bate and Ramset didn't seem to notice Nonsurat's outburst just now so with a weary sigh he headed to his group of friends.
“Hey, where’s Teacher Gordon and Miss Alba?” Meta asked since they always arrive together.
“They’re…ummm…..” The warrior sadly looked away. “Going out to eat instead.”
“Awwwww, Teacher and I made some really yummy cookies, I wanted Miss Alba to try some! Teacher told me it was one of her recipes and I really wanted her to taste it.” Like Bate, Meta didn’t seem to pick up on his friends behavior and went on about their dessert.
Meta really likes Alba, as well as the others. But…something about her didn’t sit well with him. It was strange having her around when he and his mentor trained, and although she’s super nice and always brings them treats during breaks…sometimes he wishes she’d just leave him and his mentor alone for a bit.
Would he really leave and move in with her? Just the thought of not having his mentor around caused him to lose his appetite.

“Oh, Gordon, it’s so nice being able to do this again.” She spoke, holding one of his spikes as they made their way out of Kalmari Plaza. It was already late in the evening and the couple were finally ready to call it a day. “There’s so much we need to catch up on, I’ve missed you so much.”
“So have I.” He shyly spoke since his feeling for her haven’t changed. So much has happened since they’ve been apart. One evening together could barley scratch the surface. “How about we meet up together tomorrow morning? I’d love to take you out and show you all the new shops that opened while you were gone.”
“I would love that.” She smiled, eventually stopping when they hit a fork in the road. "Well, I better be getting home. I'm sure Bate and little Nonsurat are eagerly waiting your arrival."
"Surly a lovely lady like yourself shouldn't walk all alone, I....ah, should escort you. Y'know, in case any Demon Beasts should appear to cause you trouble." He spoke, slightly blushing.
“Subtle, Gordy." She giggled, and took his spike once more as they made their way to her home.
---
"Okay, you lot, time for bed." Bate spoke as he entered the room. Meta and Arthur were busy playing with their toy swords while Nonsurat was quietly watching from his bed. Once the pair heard their mentor, they dashed to the restroom to wash up. Bate noticed Nonsurat hasn't moved from his spot and walked over to take a seat. When he didn't speak, the elder started to wonder what's gotten him so upset. Was it because Gordon hasn't returned yet?
"T-teacher Bate....?" The Puff softly mumbled in his pillow once he felt him sit next to him. "Is....Teacher Gordon really going to move out?"
"O-oh...." He placed a gently hand on his back. So it was about Gordon. Then again, Nonsurat's bond with Gordon is like the one he shares with Arthur and Meta. He could understand why he'd be troubled when it's already past the time his mentor promised to return. He'd sure as Nova knows Meta would be just as worried and troubled by it if it were him.
"I think that's up for Gordon to decide, don't you think?" He spoke. "He and Alba have a lot of history together, but....you also share a rather strong bond with him as well. What ever he decides to pick, I know he will take your feelings into consideration as well. You're very special to him, Nonsurat, so please don't think he'll ever forget about you."
Nonsurat just silent shrugged and burrowed back in his pillow. Bate decided it would be best to wait for Gordon so he could discuss this issue with him one on one. With another pat on the head, Bate left Nonsurat be and helped the other two get ready for bed.
---
Gordon quietly fiddled with the door as he entered his him. It was already late in the evening and he tried to be as quiet as possible so he didn't wake anyone up….well, almost everyone.
"Did you and Alba have fun catching up?” Bate called out as he set his book down to greet his comrade. The warrior motioned the Gordo into the living room and with piping hot tea just made, Bate poured them a cup so they could catch up.
"A-ah, yeah. We've been talking this entire evening, I suppose I lost track of time." He sheepishly replied. "Is....Nonsurat okay? I know I promised I'd return late, but I didn't think I'd be gone for this long."
"Nonsurat was a bit troubled by it, but I stayed by his side until he was able to fall asleep." He reassured.
"Thanks Bate." He weakly smiled, taking a sip of his tea.
"Of course. But...I'm actually quite curious to know of your living situation with Alba."
"Living situation?" He asked.
"Well, since she’s living in Kalmari now, are you planning on moving in with her?"
"Move in? Bate of course not." He shook his head, not skipping a beat. "You know I can't leave. We've been living together for Nova knows how long. We've shared the same routine for all these years, I can't imagine stopping all of a sudden."
"Gordon...." He softly sighed, knowing he was just saying that for the sake of him. "D..Don't stay because of me, okay? I know we've lived together after...the incident, but I'm okay now. I have Meta and Arthur to watch over, and it's time you start doing the same with your family as well.”
“Bate….”
“You’re my best friend, Gordon. I know how much you love her. You have stayed by my side for all these years, and it’s time to finally continue where you left off. I’ll be fine, I promise.” He placed a supportive hand on one of his spike.
Gordon summoned one of his hands and placed it on his. “I’ll…think about it.” He said. “Thank you, Bate.”
