★Weakness

While he is able to use his wings for minor tasks, Mends relies heavily on his metal, robotic
claws. It’s a complicated contraption that was given to him as a gift many years ago. Because
the original maker of said claws passed away, fixing them is an extremely difficult task. Mends
makes sure to properly take care of them and will always maintain its pristine condition so nothing
happens to it.

Robotic Wing

Because of an incident when he was much younger, Mends suffered
a damaged wing and required immediate surgery. Part of his left wing
is mechanic which can been visibly seen on his back- along with
a few scars.

★Pet Peeve

Disobedience

Mends has grown to have quite a temper when dealing with some of his
more…stubborn patients. He is know to shout and even physically hit them
with his clipboard or metal claws. Due to his nature, many patients who are
treated under him will respect and behave when he’s around.

★Bio

Childhood - Teen Years

Being the only son of a simple glass blower, Mends spent his early childhood
years learning the craft. He took to the art with much success and worked aside
his father when he reached his teen years. His art was admired near and
far as many saw him as a young prodigy of the medium.

This all changed, however, when Mends found out his father was a
runaway from Central. Soldiers raided their home one day and demanded
to have him detained. Mends, who wasn’t too fond of the war or Central,
came to his father’s defense and tried to fight them off. He failed miserably,
and as punishment for his crime against a central solider, Mends was taken
to one of the factories to work off his fathers sentence, but not
before witnessing the execution of him first.

Late Teens / Adulthood

After taken to Central, Mends became quite rebellious; refusing
to listen to any of the soldiers and caused many fights in protest to
his detainment. The head guard became quite interested in the feisty
Bronto Burt and claimed he will break his will by the time his sentence
is over.

Mends challenged him, and throughout the next several months he refused
to falter no matter how many beatings or hours he worked. As the years
passed, Mends' boisterous behavior started to die down, and he would
fulfill his work without retaliation. He'd still show much distaste in the guards,
but wouldn't argue like he once did as a teenager. Due to his decent behavior,
he was giving more leniency during his breaks, and would allow to pick up
his old hobby of stained glass. Using glass scraps in the factory he worked
at, Mends would spend his small breaks making small mobiles to hang in
his cell.

Mends ended up gifting one of his crafts to the head guard when he
overheard him talking about his sick daughter. The guard would accept the
gift, and thanks Mends for his act of kindness. His daughter would sadly
pass away later on, but he expresses his gratitude towards Mends- saying she
absolutely adored the stained glass mobile, and it was the one thing that
put a smile on her face.

The guard, dealing with the loss, and turmoil of his past, decided to
release Mends. He warns Mends to never step foot in Central
again, and to always keep hidden. He'll be a wanted man like
his father, so always be on guard. Mends accepts the terms, and
left Central; never looking back.

Bate’s Past / Current

Not much is known about Mends after he left Centeral, he's a very
reserved man and doesn't talk about his past. What is known, however,
is he arrived in Kalmari hospital not too long ago- after the death of Ellie.
He took the role of Alba, Elliot and Ellie as the towns' doctor. He’s very
passionate about his job and takes it quite seriously. He does not talk
much outside his work, and only focuses on his job as the town’s physician.

★Hobbies

Stained Glass

Mends set aside his childhood job of glass blowing and
instead took up stained glass as a hobby.

While he is known to make very intricate pieces like large
window panels, Mends prefer smaller projects like mobiles or
wind chimes as it reminds him of his old home. His only
daughter, and Grandson loves looking at them as well.

★PersonalitY

A stern, sometimes old grouch to many, Mends takes his job as
a doctor with the utmost seriousness. He's very professional in
what he does, and it's not often he expresses his emotions to
others. Even with his strict mannerisms, everyone in the clinic
greatly respects him.

★Relationship

Ilena

Ilena is the daughter of Mends, and a brilliant inventor at that! She is always seen tinkering with some
project in her workshed, and is never afraid of experimenting and trying something new....even
if she ends up failing from time to time. She is also the one who has given Mends his robotic arms.

Taryn

Taryn is the absolute pride and joy for Mends. A small child with wings larger than he is, little
Taryn sticks to his grandfather like glue and loves to play and spend time with him. Sadly, due
to a demon beast attack, Mends not only lost his daughter that day, but his grandchild as well.

Sir Bate

Even with the loss of his family, Mends does his best to see the good in others. Bate;
a warrior who is considered to be an all powerful monster in the eyes of the town,
is a perfect example. Mends does not let Bate's appearance and
hostile behavior sway his beliefs.

Over the years, he sees Bate as less of a threat, and more of
a forgetful idiot who doesn't take care of himself. Mends
will often scold, or even hit the warrior when he misses
important appointments.

Even with all his shouts and empty threats, Mends does care for
Bate, and he wants the warrior to continue being there for
Meta, Gordon, and the rest of those who care for the old
warrior.

Meta

Meta is often seen tagging along with Bate during his appointments.
He finds it quite amusing how Meta practically sticks to Bate like glue, even as
something as simple as a checkup. It's all the more reason why Mends is strict
with Bate.

★Other

-No one knows how old Mends really is.

-Mends took up the medical field after his wife got gravely ill.

-Mends gifted two chimes to Bate. They can been seen in front of his home.
