NEW BABU~!!!!! 8D Meet Maple~! The absolute cinnamon roll, and precious adopted daughter of Atticus and Prim. (And the younger sister of Florian.) I didn't expect to make a new character, but while I was working on an illustration for Gordon, the shading I did for him looked really wavy, and it gave me the idea for her! ^o^ Yeeee! I'm so happy how she turned out, I love her so much!!!! <3333
SO! I've been going back and fourth on 2 ideas where to put this little cutie~ The first idea was going to be the adopted child of Gordon Jr. It would've been cute to have Gordon and Alba be grandparents. Gordon sadly passed on when Nonsurat and Marlo adopted Cellic, so he never got to experience the joys of spoiling a grand baby. But I realized Jr isn't really the type to raise a child. And the time-frame wouldn't really match up to where she'd have a proper roll in the series. So, I settled with my second idea of having her being adopted by Atticus~ <333
Anyways, here's some small info for this little cutie~
This little Gordo ended up getting discarded because of a unique marbling effect she got while receiving a gloss coating. She luckily escaped, and ended up meeting Atticus while he was tending to one of his plants in a very remote, and dangerous part of the West Nova rain forest. Atticus was startled at first- Gordos are quite the rarity, so he didn't expect one to suddenly greet him in the middle of absolute no where. After finding out she was all alone, and had no other family to call her own, Atticus figured maybe having another Gordo like Cellic look after her would be for the best. He told her there was another Gordo back in his hometown who'd love to meet, and possibly adopt her, buuuuut Maple wanted Atticus. She stuck to him like literal maple syrup and quickly saw her as her protector. She didn't give Atticus a choice, and Atticus was honestly left with no other option but to take her under his wing.
Maple learned quite a lot while she was roughing it in the wild- many of the wild plants, inhabitants and environment around her. It amazed Atticus how well she's able to absorb so much information at such a young age. She reminds him a lot of his son, and has a good feeling both would get along quite well. Prim took the new VERY well once Atticus returned. She fell in love with little Maple, and was overjoyed of their new addition to the family. Florian followed suit and bonded with Maple quite fast; due to them sharing a common interest in plants, and flowers. Florian is seen as the elder brother, and adopted a protective nature in keeping her safe. (Even though Gordos are considered absolute powerhouses.)
Maple is NOT a natural Gordo, and does not shed like Cellic. But strangely enough, (Maybe due to the very warm, humid environment of the rainforest she was raised in) she gets really lethargic during the cold season. She does not hibernate, but tends to be less active compared to hotter climates. As she and Florian grow older, she's become strong enough to allow Florian ride on her spikes during long travels. (Both take the role of Atticus and Prim to help repopulate endangered plant life) She's, in a way, the older sister of the pair since she's much stronger and is usually the one who protects him. But she still calls him her elder brother and sees him as such. <33
