On paper, it seemed like moving in with Meta would be a cake walk. A few boxes here and there, Kirby's belonging, and moving furniture was no problem for Kes. She moved plenty of large cargo in the past, so having to lug several boxes proved nothing to the Leo. Unfortunately, she didn't consider the fact that Meta would be looming over every single box she brought in. He constantly intervened when she carried a box containing something special to him. He'd take it away from her and place it inside before she had the chance to. It caused much delay in the moving process because Meta wanted to make sure everything was secure, and Kes started to find his persistent behavior a bit annoying.
"Careful with that one, Kes." Meta rushed over to the Leo to help stable to box she was carrying once he realized what it was. "The candy jar Teacher gave me when I was a kid is packed in there. I don't want it to break."
"Meta..." She huffed when she felt Meta trying to pull it away from her. "I'm perfectly able to move a few boxes, thank you very much." She tried to shove the warrior away so she can place it with the stack of his other belongings. "You're the one who asked me to help move them, remember? Now let me do my job while you finish moving all of Kirby's stuff. I'm not going to drop anything, so relax."
Meta started to loosened his grip after picking up on the tone of her voice, and eventually let it go so she can pile it on top of the other boxes. Once gently stacked with the rest, she turned around and shook her head at her friend.
"Sweet Kelderon, Meta, I know how important your items mean to you, I promise I'm not going to break anything alright?"She reassured, going back outside to gather the last of the boxes he brought with him. "Besides, I think I got all of the dishes and fragile items so don't worr-"
"KES, WAIT!!! DON'T TOUCH THAT ONE!!!" His high voice caused the Leo to stumble forward.
"M-Meta!!" She yelped, crashing towards the warrior. He rushed over to try to catch her, but fell back when the box she was holding fell forward and hit him straight in the face. Several items scattered the room, while the pair softly groaned from the collision.
"O-ouch...." Kes rubbed her head in pain, and shot a glare at Meta once she recovered. 'You idiot! Why'd you scare me like that!! I told you I could handle it." She took a look around at the items on the floor; old drawings, a few lose photos, and a very worn bear. "I almost broke my ankle for this? Meta, what's wrong with you?!"
She picked up a few of the drawings and saw it was of him and his mentor. Judging by how crudely it was drawn, she assumed he was just a child when these were made. Setting them aside, she picked up a photo near her foot and, again, saw that it was him and Bate when they were younger. She gave a small sigh and started to gather all of the fallen items and placed them back in the box. Meta joined in as well and put the rest of the items in after Kes. He softly apologized shortly after, which was responded by a small huff.
"I get it. Bate's special to you, but did you really need to shout at me like that? What do you think was going to happen?"
