Group photo!!! :,D I haven't drawn them together in quite some time. It's so tedious to draw them all, I can't believe I was able to draw the 5 warriors twice in one page. >u<

Bate, thanks to Ellie, realizes that he has others who deeply care for him; others that make up another family like her, Emma and Kade. She brings up Gordon first, and then describes others who may have changed Bate's life- which is Ramset and the 5 warriors.

For Gordon: I don't think I really need to explain myself when it comes to Bate and Gordon's relationship. Up to this point, Gordon has done everything for Bate on his own will. He left the war to stay with him, he moved in with him after Ellie died, and he'll basically do anything to make sure he's okay. Bate was Gordon's first friend, and he deeply cherishes such a bond. He sees Bate as more than just a friend, because Bate was all that he had after the death of Bullet.

For Ramset: Bate chose Ramset when Ellie told him if he knew someone who changed his life the way she did for him all those years ago. This decision is based off the "Through Sickness and Health" chapter. Just like in TBaTS, Bate was very bitter and angry. Ellie was the one who befriended him and ended up gaining his trust after all that's happened. In TSaH, Ramset was the one who befriended Bate. Ramset was the only one at the time who made Bate rethink his approach towards others. (During the time he was staying in the hospital after the smoke bomb incident) In the end, Bate wasn't as angry, and ended up slightly changing his violent behavior because of him. Ramset was also the first friend he made since the death of Ellie.

For the five Warriors: Ah, well...this one is mentioned many times throughout the series. The most recent one is when Atka explains that all five gave him a second chance to protect something he deeply cares for. All of them depend on Bate, (and of course Ram and Gordon) and he'd be willing to die to ensure their safety. (Ex: Torn Chapter) They may not be family, but they are important enough to the point where they all rely on each other like one.
