I guess you could say that Meta isn't as mad as he was a few pages back. He finds out that Bate was not only married, but he had kids. ;o; Atka also explains that Bate lost many loved ones throughout his life, and he's become very bitter and angry from it all.....and that Meta was the one who gave him a second chance to protect something he cares for again. After her explanation, Meta kinda understands why his teacher did such a thing when he fought Lucian. He ends up crying from it all and Atka picks him up to comfort him.
I know I only said it was Meta who changed Bate's views, but I'm also talking about the other four as well...just, they're not here at the time so I didn't want to bring them up. (But when I say Meta, it also includes the others.) Bate would put his life on the line to save any of them. >u<
