Friends Don't Forget
Meta / Kesuk
Kes didn’t think she would ever meet someone from the outside. She’s heard stories of them….well, horrible stories, actually. She was told to never get near one unless she was told they were of no harm. She imagined them being…different. Nothing like the Puff whom she befriended earlier this afternoon. He sorta reminded her of her own group of friends. Happy, playful and really fun to be around! She was excited that her first time meeting an outsider was going so well!
She showed him all the various shops her village had, and even bought him one of her favorite treats- shaved ice! After taking him everywhere she thought he'd enjoy, she decided it was time to head back home. She eagerly wanted to show him her room to see if his was similar like hers.
“Yeah, I have lots of drawings of my friends too!” Meta spoke as he looked at the pictures of Leos she had on her wall. “Sometimes Teacher hangs them up until I draw a new one for him.”
“My dad does the same too!” She smile and rummaged through her belongings. “Do you have toys where you’re from?”
“Hm! Lots of toys!” He raised his arms in the air. “I have a whole mountain of stuffed animals!”
She blinked in surprise. “Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many toys before." She looked at her small toy chest where only a few figures and several worn plushies are stored. She pulled out a figure to show him. “We sometimes carve bones and make them into little figures."
"An....bones?" He questioned.
"Yeah!" She then handed it to him so he could get a better look. "See, this one's a star! You can keep it if you want 'cause they're super easy to make."
“Are you sure?” He looked at the small star, and then smiled when she said yes. Although he thought it was slightly weird using bones to make toys, it did look pretty cool. “Thanks! If I brought any of my toys along, I’d give you one…but I guess if we can’t see each other anymore I won’t be able to return the gift.”
“Y-yeah…” She frowned a bit, fiddling with another figure that resembled a frozen Leo. “I wish you could visit again, I’m really gonna miss you.”
“I am too.” He spoke, equally sad. It was the first time he ever made a friend in South Nova, it wasn't fair he was going to lose her already. "I wanted to introduce you to all my friends, I’m sure they would've loved to see your village.”
“And I would’ve loved to visit yours.” She softly spoke, and eventually looked up at the warrior. “Meta, even if we never see each other again….do you think we could still be friends?”
“I don’t see why not.” He nodded. “I know you’ll always be my friend.”
“R-really?” She slightly perked from his answer.
“Yeah, really!” He smiled, looking at the star as it reminded her of another. “My other friend, Melody, well....I won’t be able to see her for a very long time. I only got to know her for one day, but she’s still my friend no matter what. As long as we don’t forget one another, we’ll always be friends."
Kes cupped her hands in excitement and reached over to grab his. “My first friend with an outsider, how could I ever possibly forget about you. Meta, I'll remember all the things you taught me about your home. One day, I know we'll meet again. But if not...promise you won't forget about me?”
“You don't need to worry, because I promise!” He beamed, holding the star she gave her close to him. “We’ll always be friends no matter what!"

Just another lil' fluffy oneshot of the cuties. Both make a promise to always be friends, even if they won't be able to see one another for a long time. u///u
