-Falling on Deaf Ears-
(Ramset)
“Please, Bate!!!” Ramset begged and refused to let go of the warrior's wing. He kept a firm grip even though Bate was bucking and trying to shake him off.
“I said no!” Bate snapped and used his claws to rip the whiny Sasuke from his wing. “I've been loaning you for several month now. If you want money, get a job!”
“B-but this is an emergency!!”
“What, did you run out of Nova Crunch again?” Bate annoyingly huffed and headed back to his home. “That’s not an emergency, Ramset.”
“No, really!!” He dashed inside before he could lock the door. “I’m not joking this time! I swear!”
Bate, not convinced, crossed his arms and faced his friend, “Okay, fine. I’ll give you the money ONLY if you tell me what you’re using it for.”
Ramset quietly shuffled his feet and looked at the floor. The truth was, Ramset was embarrassed to tell Bate what he needed it for. Besides Gravel, no one else knew about him having to go to the market each month to replenish his drained batteries due to his hearing problem. The thing was, since Gravel left, he’s long since ran out of money. He used up his last battery, and Ramset had to beg Bate to provide him with the funds for it. He knew Bate would never make fun of him, but a small part of him has him doubting that he will.
“Bate….I can’t…” He finally said, “B-but please, you have to trust me when I say it’s important.”
“Obviously it isn’t important enough if you’re not willing to tell me.” He said and headed to his room. “Now leave, I’m really not in the mood to deal with you right now."
“B-but….”
Ramset flinched when Bate slammed the door. He hung his shoulders in disappointment and slowly made his way out of the house.
