-I Do....For the Cake-
(Dragato)
“Wooooow!!!! Tula, Cellic, Atti, c'mere! Take a look at this huge cake!!!”
Kirby waved to his cousins and flipped the photo album over so they could see it. When the four looked at the image Kirby was pointing to, the small children couldn't help but gasp in awe.
“I've never seen a cake that big before!!” Tula spoke when she saw the 6 tiered cake in the photo. A large white wedding cake that was beautifully decorated was seen in the background where Falspar and Pyrell stood. Both held up a slice and happily smiled at the camera before the picture was shot.
"They're so lucky! I want a slice of that cake, where'd you think they got it from?" Kirby piped up, taking a look at the image again.
"I'm not sure, it had to be a long time ago because I can see Grandfather Ramset in the background of some of these." She gave a small hum of thought and decided to call out to her dad for help. If he remembers where he got it from, then maybe he could buy her one so she can share it with her cousins!!
“Yeah, little Plum?” Falspar answered and peeked out from the hallway. When he saw they were looking through one of the photo albums, more specifically, the one filled with their marriage photos, he and headed to the group where Tula asked her question soon after.
“Where did you and daddy get that large cake from?”
“Oh, that?” Falspar grabbed the album and took a seat on the couch. He flipped a few more pages and couldn’t help but smile at all the happy memories he and Pyrell shared that day. “I made it for our wedding. Pretty awesome, huh?”
“Yeah!!” Kirby eagerly replied, still as eager as ever to get a slice. “Can you make us one for us, Uncle Falspar?”
“With lots of decorations too!! Just like this photo!” Tula added. “Pleeeease?”
“A cake like this is quite special. Maybe when you’re older and get married, okay?” He chuckled, “Then I promise to make you the biggest wedding cake there is.”
“What if I get married now?” Tula looked around, and softly hummed to herself as she looked at the others next to her. “Ummm…..oh!” She walked over and grabbed Kirby’s hand. “I’ll marry Kirby! Now can we have some cake?”
“Tula, you can’t marry Kirby just because you two want cake.” He broke out in a small fit of laughter. Standing up, he put the album back on the shelf before heading back to the other room. “How about I make us some cupcakes later today, alright? It won’t be like a wedding cake, but it’ll still be delicious, rest assure.”
“Awwww, okay…..” A wave of disappointed groans filled the air, and the kids decided to head out to hopefully come up with a plan to still get a giant cake for dessert.
“How about Grandfather Bate?” Kirby spoke up after finally thinking of someone. “He’s all alone, I’m sure he’d want to get married and have a wedding!!”
“I dunno…” Cellic wasn’t so convinced like his cousin.
“He was already married a long time ago, don’t you think he’d be married again if he wanted to?” Atticus asked. “And besides, he still talks about Grandmother Ellie a whole lot. I think maybe we should ask someone else….” He suggested since he didn’t want to upset his grandfather with such an idea. For him, cake wasn't worth risking his Grandfather's happiness.
“Okay, fine, but who else, then?” Kirby whined, not wanting to wait until for Nova knows how long to get a slice.
“Ummmm…what about Uncle Dragato?” Tula brought up. “I don’t think he’s married. How about we ask him!!”
"But he lives all the way on that large hill..." Atticus slightly wined, not wanting to trek all the way up there. "I'm gonna get too tired."
"It's fine, Atti. Ummm...how about we visit Grandpa Bate while Tula and Kirby ask. A wedding needs lots of flowers, maybe he can help us gather some!" Cellic suggested so Atticus wouldn't feel left behind. "Then we can all meet up when they're done."
"O-okay." He shyly nodded since he always hated not being able to keep up with his cousins.
"Once Uncle Dragato agrees, we'll meet back at my house!" Tula said. "So lets hurry!"
The two groups separated so they could get everything ready for Dragato's surprise wedding. Atticus and Cellic were the first group to reach their destination. After knocking on the door a few times, Bate slowly stepped out and greeting his grand kids.
"Atticus, Cellic, what a surprise." He smiled and moved aside to let them in. Meta was currently in the living room as well, so both kids gave a small wave before settling down on the couch across from them.
"O-ooujii, can you help us gather flowers?" Atticus asked.
"We need a whole lot!" Cellic added to his request.
"A whole lot, huh? Sounds like you lot are planning something big." Bate couldn't help but smile. "What's it for? Your parents?"
"Nu-uh." Cellic shook his head and smiled back. "It's for a wedding!"
"A wedding?" Meta and Bate spoke in unison.
"Yeah, for Uncle Dragato!" Attcius replied. "We have to get a bunch of flowers, and Uncle Falspar's gonna make the cake!"
"Teacher, I didn't know Dragato was engaged." Meta raised a brow when he wasn't informed about it. "Who's he going to marry?"
"I'd like to know that as well. As far as I'm concerned, he never spoke of another. Maybe he wanted to keep it a secret?" He spoke as he quietly thought to himself. "If that's the case, maybe Petta should handle the floral arrangements. I'm sure she's already aware of it, but I'll call just to make sure."
Bate got up and headed towards the kitchen to make the call. Meanwhile Meta decided to head out and have a chat with Dragato himself.

Opening the door, Dragato didn't expect to see his nephew and niece at the door. Nonetheless, he couldn't help but smile from the visit.
"Tula, Kirby! How's it going? Come in, come in!" Motioning his wing forward to let the toddlers in, he welcomed the pair inside.
"If you're looking for a painting class, I'm sorry to say Cite is sleeping. He's been up all night painting so I think it would be best to let him rest."
"Oh, that's fine, Uncle Dragato." Kirby nodded, trying to come up with a way to propose the idea to him. "Ummm....I just wanted to know, if....ah....if you like cake....?"
"Cake?" He repeated. Shyly rubbing the back of his head, he gave a faint laugh. "Yeah, I guess. From time to time, 'yknow."
"Since you there when my parents got married, you tried their wedding cake, right?" Tula asked soon after.
"Were you two snooping through his photo albums?" He started laughing. "Let me guess, you saw the wedding cake and want some of it?"
"It looks so good!!!! We want Uncle Falspar to make another one for us!" Kirby said, though frowning a bit. "But....we need to have a wedding."
"Dad said he'd make one for me when I have one, but that's gonna take to long." Tula spoke, mimicking Kirby's expression.
"So we were thinking....." Kirby's voice lingered as he was going to bring it up. "Maybe you could-"
"DRAGATO!!! Dragato, open this door now!!!"
All three jolted when Meta's voice and the loud pounding of the door echoed though the house. The warrior quickly got up to open it, fearing it was an emergency.
"Meta, what's wrong? Is someone hurt?" He asked.
Instead of answering, Meta started to berate him with questions.
"How come you didn't tell me you were getting married?!! I had to hear it from my nephew, and you couldn't bother informing your comrade about it?!! Kes is in South Nova right now, do you know how long it's going to take to travel to get her? You better hope we make it on time because you failed to let us in on it!"
"M-Married?!!!" Dragato stuttered from the mention of it. "What are you talking about, I'm not getting married!"
"I was told Falspar's making a wedding cake for you right now, so don't tell me you're not hiding something!"
"M-Meta, I'm being honest!" He held up his hands in defense. "And keep it down, you're going to wake up-"
"Quit shouting!!!" Came a rather frustrated voice from behind the pair. Everyone turned around and saw Cite clearly agitated from being woken up. He walked towards Meta, his mood sour since he hated to be disturbed up after a long night of work.
"Meta, if you want to argue, I ask you to go outside and do it. I had a long night, and the last thing I needed was to be woken by you shouting at Dragato."
"Don't blame this on me, Dragato's the once keeping secrets from Teacher and I!!"
"I said I wasn't keeping any secrets!" The magenta Puff bit back. As he was about to shout again, Cite held up one of his crutches to silence them. Both Meta and Dragato stumbled back from almost being hit, and Cite's fin twitched in anger.
"Just what are you talking about, Meta?" Cite looked at the warrior.
"Of course you're calm about it, you probably already know." Meta huffed. "Thanks for telling me your best friend was getting married."
"Married?" Cite repeated, not reacting in the slightest to what he just said.
"Yes, married!!"
Instead of bursting out like how Meta did after receiving the news, he walked back to the hallway like nothing had happened. Meta blinked in surprise when he just left and looked at Dragato in confusion.
"There is no wedding, and Dragato isn't marrying anyone. Now go back home." His voice echoed through the hall.
Kirby waved to his cousins and flipped the photo album over so they could see it. When the four looked at the image Kirby was pointing to, the small children couldn't help but gasp in awe.
