To protect the last bit of hope left, Ellie sacrifices herself to protect Meta.
The next page will provide way more context to what that really means. I'll also share a deleted concept that was scrapped because I think it would've been waaaaay too sad for the series. But for now, Meta and Bate's Warp Star is safe. What happens to Ellie, well...maybe you already know. It's been greatly hinted in the series, so I'm sure you may already figure out what's going to happen. ;A;;;
Also! This particular scene with Ellie has been greatly hinted in a previous chapter! If you have a keen eye, Page 32 of DFTP showed Ellie getting pierced with the black rods in the background. I wonder, were you able to spot this little subtle hint?
