(Cite / Dragato)
Hey, Cite!!! A few of us are going to get some ice cream, do you wanna join us?" Dragato happily spoke to the Squishy when he greeted him through his window. Since he wasn't answering the front door for some reason, he figured flying to his room would be just as good. He crawled thorough the rather large window and saw Cite nervously face him once he got in.
"O-oh...ummm....N-no thank you." He politely replied.
"Aw, c'mon, it'll be fun!" He said, thinking that his friend was just being shy. "You liked it last time, and my teacher said we can get all the toppings we want!"
Dragato was hoping that'll convince him, but....
"T-that sound r-really fun, but I....t-think I'll just f-finish my drawing, i-if that's alright." He spoke, pointing to the small canvas he was working on.
The warrior frowned a bit since Cite was never the one to refuse an outing when all his friends were going to be there. "Well, do you mind if I stay with you, then? How about we draw something together? If we both move a few things, I bet Teacher Ramset could buy us one of those really large poster boards and-"
"I-it's fine, D-D.....Dragato. Y-you don't h-have to stay w-with me. I.....I-If you d-don't mind...c-could I j-just s-spend t...t-t-today by m-myself?"
Dragato's wings quickly hit the floor when Cite told him that. Cite never rejected an invite to draw together. Something was clearly wrong. He could understand not wanting to get ice cream, but this was the first time he refused his company. It was causing the warrior much confusion, and slightly caused him to worry if he did something to anger him,
"Cite, is....something wrong? Did...I do something to get you mad or anything?"
"N-no! O-of course not! Dragato, I....I would never be m-mad at you!" He quickly turned around from his chair to face him, but let out a small yelp when he lost his balance and toppled to the floor.
"C-cite! Are you okay? H-here, let me help you!"
"I-I'm fine." He held up his hand to stop him. "P-please, I...I'll b-be okay." He didn't stand, but sat up from the floor and nervously smiled at him.
"Are you sure?" He said, not convinced, when he didn't stand. He took a second glance at the Squid, and noticed something that caught his attention. He quickly looked around his room, but when he couldn't spot them, looked back at Cite. "Where's your crutches at?"
The Puff watched as Cites fins slightly lowered, while a small sigh escaped his mouth. Eventually, he held up his hand for help.
"I...don't h-have them w-with me. They got too old, so I'm getting a new pair. T-they should be a-arriving in s-several more d-days....."
"O-oh." Dragato took his hand and helped him back to his chair. Once he was back on, Dragato couldn't help but giggle in relief. "Gee, for a moment there, I thought you were mad at me or something."
"I w-would never be m-mad at you. Y-your my best friend."
"Then...how come you didn't tell me about your crutches in the first place?" He asked, "I'm sure it would've saved you from falling on the floor." He slightly joked.
"I j-just didn't w-want you to s-stay behind with me b-because I couldn't g-go...." He softly admitted, and tried to hide the fact he was starting to cry "I...can't walk very well w-without them, a-and I d-didn't want to be a burden t-to you, o-or anyone-"
"Cite, you're not a burden!" Dragato cut him off when he repeated what he's heard so many times from him before. "I keep telling you that, and this is the last time I ever want to hear that from you, got it?!!" He raised his voice as he was on the verge of tears as well."
"Friends....don't think that way about one another." Dragato spoke, his voice was much calmer than before since he didn't want to scare Cite. " I would never think that way about you, promise."
