In the middle of no where, only me.
I run and hunt- wild and free.
I search the land to hunt and track.
Without my kill, I won’t go back.
I will scour the land, for the one I seek.
Your pelt, your bones, and of course- your meat.
I will fight to the end, battered and bruised.
But unfortunately for you, I will not lose.
As you take your last breath, I kneel to pray.
Your honorable sacrifice will feed for days.
So thank you for everything, you wonderful beast.

Adjusting to life on Pop Star was quite different for Kes. It was the complete opposite compared to her village back in South Nova. Her job was to hunt and provide food for her family and friends. On Pop Star, such a thing is not needed for there's a plethora of super markets available at any time. The skill she was born and raised to do was no longer needed. With Meta raising Kirby (she'd help occasionally, but Kes prefers Kirby to have a stronger bond with Meta since their both Star Warriors) she felt like there was no purpose to her being here.
One day while picking up groceries, Kes noticed a huge spike in several of the items she was shopping for. She overheard that many of the livestock and vegetation has been threatened by a massive heard of Nruffs. Not only that, but the biggest Nruff has killed many of the herding Gao Gaos that protect the cattle.
Kes quickly left after that, and headed to the location of there the herd was last seen. After several days of tracking, Kes was able to come face to face with the pack leader; a massive, titanic Nruff. Kes never faced such a beast without her group, but refused to back down and fought it alone.
Though wounded, Kes managed to take down the titan. The other, smaller Nruffs, scattered once they saw their leader has been defeated. Kes spent spend the remainder of the day skinning, gutting and making sure nothing goes to waste. She even donated a good portion of the meat before lugging back her chunk back home to show Meta.
But…with Kes gone and Meta not being informed where she went, I’m pretty sure he won’t be as happy as Kes when they meet.
